Description

Billing / Accounts Receivable Specialist will ensure invoices are sent and compensation has been collected timely and accurately.

Requirements

  • Experience as a coder (certified preferred) with Medicare billing experience
  • 1 year experience in Medicare
  • Strong background in Medical Coding, Accounting, and Medical Terminology
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to perform duties in office setting: sit/stand for periods of time, communicate effectively with staff and external personnel both verbally and in English writing.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and a calculator
  • Experience with PROMISe, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS guidelines.

Responsibilities

Manage Pennsylvania Home Care One's Medicare coding, billing, and accounts receivable collections. Knowledge of CMS coding guidelines, as well as Medicare and Medicaid regulations. Requires the ability to read and interpret medical terminology and apply coding skills. Review progress notes, consultations, and hospital discharge reports. Keep log of increases and decreases of hours. Process accounts payable according the PHC1's policy; post receivable to appropriate accounts. Provide monthly logs of billables and receivables. Supervise and/or bill accounts payable, and third-party billing. Process Medicare and commercial insurance claims. Assists in batching and billing in HHA and process all HHA Claims. Confirm all HHA Claims have been exported in a timely fashion. Performs duties in accordance with PHC1's mission ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in processing and posting. Manage credit and collections activities on current and past due accounts.
